Welcome!

Welcome to the Alpha Chi Omega Iota Omega chapters Blog!

Iota Omega is a chapter of the national womens social fraternity Alpha Chi Omega, founded in 1885 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.  Our founders were seven amazing women who felt that fraternities were not just for men and thus created Alpha Chi Omega on October 15, 1885.  Originally a music fraternity Alpha Chi Omega has grown to over 130 collegiate chapters and over 200 alumni chapters around the United States. All Alpha Chi Omegas are chosen on five membership criteria:

1. Academic Interest
2.Character
3.Financial Responsibility
4.Leadership
5.Personal Development

These membership criteria combined with a passion to strive for excellence makes Alpha Chi Omega's unique women.

The Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was founded April 25, 2005 by 11 real strong women at Carthage College.  Our chapter has grown and developed over the past 5 years into a unique organization for the best of Carthage College's young women.  We have frequently been at the top for the highest GPA for a women's organization on campus, have many campus leaders in our chapter, and our graduates have gone into the world to make it a better place.  The Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega strives for excellence every day and makes contributions to the campus that are not matched by any other organization.

The ladies of the Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega would like to welcome you to our blog!
